Duties and responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the Programmes Department.
  • Management and development of the Donations distribution systems and identifying new areas of service to the disabled, in line with the Fund strategic plan.
  • Scrutiny and processing of applications for assistance.
  • Organizing for distribution, monitoring, and evaluation of the impact of donations by the Fund.
  • Maintenance of a computerized record-keeping system of donations made to individuals and institutions.
  • Reporting to the Donations Committee on the progress of activities undertaken on behalf of the Fund and the costs incurred against set budget targets.
  • Enhancing the Public image of the Fund.
  • Advocating for the rights of disabled persons.
  • Fundraising.
  • Identifying and prioritizing training needs of staff in the department and facilitating training in identified areas for enhancement of staff capability.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.


  • Accountable to the Chief Executive Officer.


Job demands and challenges:

  • Needs to collaborate closely with other departmental heads.
  • Expected to maintain excellent public relations with Persons with disabilities, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Must enhance a stable and motivated department and ensure that staff maintains cordial working relations with each other in and out of the department.
  • Expected to keep abreast with what is happening in the disabled fraternity.
  • Will take responsibility for omissions/commissions and poor performance of staff in the department where it is deemed to have been committed within the normal cause of duty and with good intentions

Minimum qualifications:

  • A degree holder in Social Sciences
  • Training in Project/Programme Design, Planning Management
  • Diploma in Counseling and Mass Communication an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Wide experience in interviewing and counseling.
  • A good background in Statistics.
  • Knowledge of the rights of the disabled. 
  • A relevant master’s degree is an added advantage.

Retirement/terminal benefits:

This is a three-year renewable contract where the employee shall be paid a gratuity equivalent to 25% of his/her basic salary on successful completion of the term of the contract.
