Job Tittle: Ocean Freight Commercial Center Specialist

Reports to: Head of Ocean Freight

 

Business Area: Kampala, Uganda

Main tasks & key responsibilities:

  • Executes pricing campaigns (e.g. seasonal offers)
  • Searches for best pricing solutions in order to maximize profitability of OFR Provides pricing for Sales growth on country level (including standard factor-based pricing methodology), supports and follows up with Sales
  • Provides correct and timely feedback to GBT bids; answers GBT and region to region pricing requests, from break-down of pricing instructions to roll-up of pricing input and submitting
  • Executes country bid response, in particular qualification of bids received, formulation of bid strategy, gathering and checking of pricing inputs, consolidates country bid response
  • Sets up and maintains Tier 4 approach to local BC Sales
  • Provides quick and aggressive responses to level 1 and 2 opportunities
  • Sets up tariffs to answer level 3 and 4 opportunities
  • Monitors objectives in terms of profitability maximization and volume growth (e.g. on ITM lanes)
  • Processes, handles and distributes all required documents in the receiving areas
  • Performs booking and booking optimization according to internal guidelines as defined by Product
  • Performs delivery arrangement
  • Ensures customer requirements are met and takes corrective actions in case of deviations from customer requirements
  • Ensures documents are completed and updated in a timely and efficient manner and according to regulations and internal procedures
  • Interacts with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers, if required
  • Stakeholders and Customers
  • Support country's efforts in providing competitive quotations to customer timely
  • Keeping in touch with customers for feedback on sent out quotation
  • Support sales and products in securing competitive rates and submission of bids
  • Process Improvements
  • Responsible for constant improvement and optimization of product pricing and service level quality
