Job Description

The RTE Sales Executive is directly responsible for identifying and delivering new revenue streams

for the Foodscape business and delivering an effective customer relationship program that retains

and builds on existing customers and business partners.

 

The sales department is a revenue center with our revenue streams being the Retail market (Supermarkets, duty-free

shops), HORECA, RTE, and the Export market. The sales executive is at the heart of this business.

 

Responsibilities

 1. To identify and develop business opportunities from the market by establishing a viable and sustainable

portfolio of Ready-To-Eat Meals and other Foodscape items for customers, and in building and

maintaining strong client relationships.

2. Responsible for building a customer base from scratch, establishing viable account and activity plans,

capturing and maintaining a probable pipeline of opportunities to achieve agreed income targets and to

manage and report on progress.

3. Propose and implement business development strategies for RTE markets that are in

line with Foodscape and wholesale distribution capabilities thus enabling sustainable

revenue growth.

4. Responsible for building current and useful competitor data base, that helps create the

business impact analysis and associated business continuity plan, citing mitigation and

contingency planning.

5. Responsible for customer contract retention, by ensuring that service delivery performance

is adequately tracked and in line with or exceeds customer expectations, that any contract

negotiations support a successful outcome and by maintaining satisfactory relationships

with the customer.

6. Understands and communicates the target transfer price point, and business approved gross

margins before the product engineering phase to ensure that the culinary development,

procurement and manufacturing teams are efficient in their associated work streams.

7. Responsible for the creation, capture, collation and/or analysis of all documentation relating

to sales activities, including (but not limited to) invoices, contracts,

certificates of analysis, certificate of origin and system item codes.

8. Responsible for the protection of cash flow by ensuring that payment terms are fully agreed

and included in the sales contract, and that the business is fully protected from all risk categories

9. Manages payment reconciliation and collection with support from sales manager & accounts

receivable.

10. Coordinates and participating in trade marketing activities e.g. demonstrations/trainings of new

introductions and product promotions to RTE partners and new clients.

11. Striving towards delivery of all planned and agreed departmental and individual performance targets

through coordination with other sales functions.

12. Ensuring all sales and expense reports are received on time (before 8am every Monday) and are clear

reflection of work on the ground.

13. Communicate with Sales Manager regarding sales issues/objectives.

14. Listen to customers and consumers for points of brand and company improvement
